Discover the attractions at your own pace, visiting places like the Temple of the Sun, the terraced fields of the cultivation area, the Intihuatan stone and take the famous photo from the observatory with the lost citadel behind. This is the best option for those who prefer to organize their own transport and guided tour.
Very important: to access the Lost Citadel of Machu Picchu it is mandatory to be accompanied by an official guide. You can hire one directly at the entrance to the ruins. Make sure to carefully read all the information sent by the local operator and the information in the «Before You Travel» section of the tour.

Before travelling:

- You will receive another email from the tour operator with your entry ticket. The GYG coupon is not the ticket.
- The time of your visit will be confirmed together with the official ticket. Wait for this information to buy a train ticket
- All visitors entering Machu Picchu must be accompanied by an official guide who can be hired there• If you go from Cuzco, the excursion can last more than 5 hours. The most common means of transport is the train. From Poroy station (Cuzco) to Aguas Calientes (the last stop) it takes 3 hours and 50 minutes, before a 30-minute bus ride.
