The dizzying heights of Bolivia have earned this country the title of «Roof of the World.» Among the most important tourist attractions in this nation are the city of La Paz (the highest capital in the world), and Lake Titicaca (the highest navigable lake in the world).
If this makes Bolivia a challenge for travelers, this nation’s spectacular scenery and passages make any extra effort worth it. This 6-day, 5-night tour focuses on the diverse cultures of La Paz and its surroundings.
As part of this tour, we propose you guided tours of the city, to learn more about the history and culture of this urban area. We will visit the markets, cultural institutions and squares, and we will have the opportunity to interact with the locals. Additionally, you will travel to Lake Titicaca – so full of legends and mysteries – to explore the temples, the way of life of the people and the bucolic landscapes of the different islands, located in this huge body of water.
We will also explore the ruins of Tiwanaku (as well as its culture, still very much alive); We will visit the ecovillage «Raíces Andinas», and the Altiplano Museum; and we will have the opportunity to appreciate the ancestral architecture of the Urus people. In summary, this very well designed tour will allow you to discover the incredible natural beauty of La Paz and its surrounding areas: one of the greatest tourist attractions in South America.

Itinerary
DAY 01: LA PAZ
Upon arrival at La Paz airport, our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel in La Paz.
Overnight at your Hotel.
DAY 02: CITY TOUR IN LA PAZ – MOON VALLEY
Breakfast.
At 8:45 Hr. Our staff will pick you up from your hotel to start the half day City tour in La Paz.
During the city tour in La Paz, we will appreciate the cultural, historical, architectural and natural wealth. We will visit the Plaza Murillo, the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Church of San Francisco, the Quilli Quilli Viewpoint, the Gold Museum, the Witches’ Market and the Valley of the Moon, located 15 km from the city .
Over the years, erosion has managed to form a set of astonishing rock formations that give the visitor the sensation of having discovered an unknown world.
At the end of the city tour in La Paz, our staff will transfer you back to the hotel.
DAY 03: LA PAZ – COPACABANA – SUN ISLAND
Breakfast.
At 06:00 Hr. Our staff will pick you up from your hotel to start the full day tour to Copacabana and Sun Island.
This circuit begins with an approximate trip of 3 and a half hours crossing a paved road to the town of Copacabana, located 151 km from the city of La Paz. The road borders the Titicaca Lake, with an impressive view of the Real Mountain Range. Upon reaching the Copacabana peninsula, we will visit the Sanctuary of the Virgen Morena.
At 13:30 Hr. We start the tour to Sun Island. After have lunch, we start our tour to Sun Island, crossing the lake for approximately an hour and a half until we reach the southern part of Sun Island. Upon reaching our destination we will visit the remains Archaeological of «Pilkokaina – Temple of the Inca, a religious center, then in a small walk through the steps of Yumani built by our ancestors. Then we will visit the Fountain of Youth, where you can purify yourself by drinking some sacred water, and we will also enjoy the beauty of that beautiful Inca garden.
At 16:15 Hr. we return back to Copacabana.
Then, at 18:00 Hr. We will take the bus from Copacabana to La Paz. Overnight.

DAY 04: TIWANAKU ARCHAEOLOGICAL CENTER
Breakfast.
At 8:00 Hr. Our staff will pick you up from your hotel to start the tour to Tiwanaku, the most important archaeological site in the country of Bolivia.
This circuit begins by passing through a paved road to the archaeological remains of Tiwanaku, located 72 km from the city of La Paz. When we arrive at our destination, we will visit the «Lithic and Ceramic» Museums and later we will visit the Archaeological Site of Tiawanaku and its main ceremonial centers such as: The Akapana Pyramid, Semisubterranean Temple, Kalasasaya Temple, La Puerta del Sol, etc. The time of the guided tour is 2 and a half hours. At the end of the tour to Tiwanaku we will enjoy a typical lunch and then return to La Paz.
Overnight.
DAY 05: TRANSFER OUT.
Breakfast.
Our staff will pick you up from your hotel to go to the airport, where you will take your flight back home.

Since 2007, Bolivian President Evo Morales suppressed the right of these citizens to freely enter the Bolivian country, in reciprocity to a similar measure taken by the United States government.
